Let's Get Graphic!

Sometimes you want blouses, other times you want dresses, BUT tons of the time you walk by a shirt and go "AW MAN, that's some funny stuff! I want that!" That's pretty much how I felt about every graphic shirt I bought over the weekend. I've got sexy, flirty, cute but I wanted fun!

I stepped into the odd goodness that is Hot Topic and picked up some cute graphic tees. The largest size I encountered was XXL. Every top pictured is XL in mens, but my curves fill them just fine. To the left, a shirt that makes me VERY happy but cause people like my roommate painful confusion, is a Taco Cats Space Cat Shirt. Food, cats and galaxy print. Why wouldn't I want it!? This shirt definitely stretches and gets a bit baggy but paired with some shorts and was good to go.

This tank is part of what I call my "mini Adventure Time haul". I bought a couple of tops, bracelets, magnets….just general awesomeness.
Here we have the Adventure Time Bro Hug Tank
Another piece of apparel that has me thinking I shouldn't be afraid to show off my arms. For a guys top, the cut is real cute and I don't think I'd mind a bold bra for a pop o' colour behind this bad boy.

"I've been meaning to ask you…what's with that pocket on your shirt?"

I saw this and I thought my roommate was going to have to re-start me heart! This is my fave out of the three items because it's really hard to forget Jake tootin' that booty-thang!
ALSO I love cutting my shirts either across the shoulder or v-necking it but this tee is too perfect to possibly mess up. I bought this Jake-in-a-pocket shirt at FYE but you can also find it online at HT HERE

Again, all three are men's XL and give way to a little stretch! Enjoy!

Blue Lace and Body Positivity

It's hot, it's sunny, so (IF YOU WANT) it's time to shed the layers and break out some lace! When it's hot I like all kinds of flow so when I saw this cami, all I could think is "SKIN SEASON"

Unfortunately sold out, this blue lace cami top from Torrid is so sexy but has its pros, cons and mehs.

PROS: Airy, bright blue, lace, lace….lace.
CONS: Snags on jean buttons. WAH
MEHS: If you wear underwear that is high-rise it will peak-a-boo up n' out. You could totally wear something under this top if you prefer coverage, but if not and you dig colour coordination, be aware of sneaky panties.

I love it but on a slightly serious note, it has definitely started a couple of heated conversations.

I have a decent relationship with my body and as long as a person feels comfortable with what they wear they should shut out all criticism and just rock on. Someone close to me told me that I was brave for showing off my belly and other parts and I was instantly taken aback. Are there parts of me I should be scared of or others find scary?

My body is not anyone else's concern and if they don't like it, I can't think of anything to tell them short of "You're ignorant, get lost." The only differences between my midsection and that of a bikini model's are that we are unique in our own way and that society prefers one over the other.

I don't care what anyone finds "flattering" because my body is here for my enjoyment and not theirs. At the same time I'm well within my right to not have a happy relationship with my body ALL THE TIME and have, what I call, "bad days." I am allowed to take my shirt off at a beach and walk around in a bra and be happy with myself.

I will not let you make me feel like I've brought down all the plagues on humanity just because I'm ok with my fabulous fat.

Get yo' body positivity on!

OOTD Roaming the GALAXY in CONVERSE! PLUS Song Of The Outfit!

FINALLY! PLUS SIZE GALAXY LEGGINGS I CAN GET BEHIND ( and in!) While perusing the hosiery section of my much loved mecca Torrid.com, my heart stopped and then fluttered as I came across the word "cosmic". Cosmic turned into space which turned it galaxy which turned into TAKE MY MONEY! Blue Cosmic Printed Leggings (also in black and white) for the win!

Lovers of the standard Torrid basic leggings be warned, these are not Torrid brand! These 95% Polyester 5% Spandex beauties are made by an LA-based company called See You Monday. Unfortunately their website is a business-to-business deal and only companies can register to check out the latest trends.

They stop above the ankle and are a little snug around the thigh but still very comfy. I have quite a tummy on me but a size a 2 (the size I get in basic Torrid leggings) fits just fine!

I've seen some not-so-lovely plus size galaxy prints and a lot of shaming for wearing spandex but I say GET OUTTA HEEERE with that noise! The first thing I noticed was how my thighs jiggled when I walked and guess what I thought? AWESOME.

Whatever makes you feel lovely, sexy or SHOOOWWWW, wear it and wear it hot.

The hooded shirt I'm rocking comes from the men's section at Target! It's a Converse One Star Men's Long Sleeve Hooded Henley top in Dark Night Navy! CON is when you first wear it it's super snug. PRO: it stretches out nice n' baggy! (I'm wearing a size large)

I have yet to decide what shoes I want to wear but BLUE BLUE BLUE is the way to go!
SONG OF THE OUTFIT
It's that time again! This track has been a fave of mine for a while. It's one of those things-are-tough-but-keep-your-chin-up. It's definitely been one of those weeks but nothing boosts confidence like walking around knowing you are beautiful in every way and no one can take that from you! Polka Dots for Days! PLUS Song Of the Outfit!

So if you know me, you know I CAN'T resist polka dots (I get that from my mama) and I may have found my favourite summer dress yet!
How could I say no to this fun n' flirty strappy number?! Sunny days in Arcata, CA plus this dress equals total babe and a half mode. Do I have a dress slightly similar? Is that slightly similar dress black? YEAH! SO? Polka dots everywhere!

Navy Blue Polka Dot Dress (Target $12)
This light cotton dress is perfect for a number of occasions and you'll feel absolutely cute and comfortable at each one. It has two pockets (THANK YOU), false buttons on the chest and is cinched under the bust. The straps are attached to the back of the dress with buttons and can be removed, criss-crossed and turned into a halter.

I paired the dress with a  Forever 21+ navy blue, open knit cardigan. It's thin, breathable and provides coverage for people who may be nervous about their arms (ME) but this dress actually makes me feel hubba hubba enough to get over my fear!

Any sandals, heels or cute sneaks can complete the outfit so go nuts! I also wore shorts because the dress rides a little high and the slightest bend will show off your panties (unless you go commando then that's a whole different story!)

Accessory-wise, My silver hoops were a gift and I found my heart-shaped sunnies at a local thrift store, but you can find similar ones at Domino Dollhouse or Top Shop!

ALSO, I completely forgot that I had these two colours. Next time I rock these dots I'm going to do a sassy paint job on my digits. Check out these two Essie polishes any time you've got the blues. Click the pictures for links and details!

SONG OF THE OUTFIT
So I'm starting a new section each post! Song Of The Outfit! It's basically the song I feel most in the mood for when I wear each outfit. The track I've picked for this ensemble is "Shiver Shiver" by Walk The Moon. It's sassy, sexy and you can strut it real nice!
